Emma Jaffe

I am a psychotherapist who has experience working with children, young people and adults to address a range of issues. I trained psychodynamically, which means I often consider how early experiences help to shape patterns of behaviour and relating to others. However, I am able to draw on a range of strategies and approaches based on a client’s needs. I aim to work alongside clients to empower them to understand their patterns of relating, and begin to re-frame these if necessary.

I have particular experience working with women, as well as with young children and those with Special Educational Needs. I believe the first aim of therapy should be to establish a good relationship in which a client feels comfortable sharing their difficulties. I recognise that coming to therapy can feel daunting and strive to work with a client’s level of readiness to engage with more difficult topics.
