Therapeutic Adoption and Foster Services (TAFS)
Using the combined qualifications, skills and experience that our Associates bring to The Practice MK, we have developed a multi-disciplinary, therapeutic adoption and fostering service (TAFS) which enables us to provide clients with an individualised and highly specialised assessment and therapy pathway.
Our Associates have extensive experience working in CAMHS, the NHS, Education and the private sector.
The Practice MK through TAFS is able to provide:
- Full case management
- Assessment and testing for mental health and education
- Counselling and therapy services, including:
- Trauma Focused CBT
- Art therapy
- Psychological support and training for carers
Our aim is to provide support and training for the entire family. In doing so we believe we can better support the psychological needs of children and youths who have been adopted or fostered in a supportive family setting.
Historically there has been a reliance on local Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) to provide the specialist therapeutic assessments and interventions which many young people in care require. Unfortunately, they are not always resourced to support every child.
